Helping you protect soil, water, air, wildlife and our way of life

This past school year, DCCD offered the “Adopt A Rancher” program.  The 1st through 4th graders at Dubois Elementary  corresponded with the Flying T Ranch in Crowheart through letters and pictures.  Ben and Alicia Rux introduced the school kids to the cycle of ranch work-from haying to fall calving to feeding. We’d like to send out a big thanks to Mrs. Qureshi, Mrs. Horn, Mrs. Hoadley, and Mrs. Overcast for taking the time for this project.

DCCD also offers Ag in the Classroom curriculum to any teacher and classroom that is interested.  Topics range from crops to worms, from dirt to water quality.  Lessons are hands on and are a great way to get kids informed and involved about how agriculture affects us all.

We planned a Snow Survey trip with the Crowheart School and our NRCS District Conservationist, Jeff Vanuga. This involved snow-shoeing, which means lots of fun!!
